Remarkably, the big, bad bull stepped back and his horn slipped out of the matador’s face as swiftly as it had entered. The medics on the ringside rushed to the scene to attend to the fallen matador and rushed him to the hospital where Aparicio’s life was saved after two operations. While the bull was dispatched by other matadors in the arena.
“[The horn] went though the tongue and penetrated the roof of the mouth, fracturing the jawbone,” one of the medics who worked on Aparicio told AFP news in Madrid.
