Jesus In Playboy

Playboy cancels Portuguese edition after it features Jesus Christ among topless models.

Playboy magazine is to pull the plug on its Portuguese edition after it ran a photo shoot featuring Jesus Christ among topless models.

The spread was ostensibly a tribute to Nobel Prize-winning author Jose Saramago’s The Gospel According to Jesus Christ, but Hugh Hefner’s headquarters have reacted with outrage.

The pictures show a long-haired, glowing Jesus watching two models in a lesbian clinch, standing next to a prostitute and looking over the shoulder of a woman reading a book.

Controversy: Playboy magazine has pulled the plug on its Portuguese edition after it ran a shoot featuring Jesus Christ among topless models

A final, heavily tattooed woman, appears to have died in his arms.

Theresa Hennessy, Playboy Enterprises vice president of public relations told the Mail Online: ‘We did not see or approve the cover and pictorial in the July issue of Playboy Portugal.

‘It is a shocking breach of our standards and we would have not allowed it to be published if we had seen it in advance.

‘We are in the process of terminating our agreement with the Portuguese publisher.'

Saramago’s novel is a fictional re-telling of Christ’s life, depicting him as a flawed, human character.

It generated controversy among the Roman Catholic Church, who accused Saramago of depicting a ‘substantially anti-religious vision.’

However, other critics have praised it as a ‘deeply philosophical, provocative and compelling work.’

Paul the Psychic Octopus

Spanish soccer fans saw their national team defy most predictions by beating Germany 1-0 in today’s semifinal match up. Little did they know, the Germans had already been defeated long before ever setting foot on the field.

For those unacquainted with the genius that is Paul the Psychic Octopus, he is a German national and undeniably the most clairvoyant cephalopod of our time. With a now overall record of 10 dead-on calls to 1 minor slip-up, Paul accurately predicted the outcome of all 5 of Germany’s world cup matches leading up to the game against Spain, so when he chose to eat the mussels from the box baring the Spanish flag over those from the German-marked one (don’t you dare question his methods) German fans everywhere knew Deutschland was kaput.

So what does the future hold for Paul? Assuming he can escape the wrath of his fellow countrymen, I think The Oracle of Oberhausen should explore his options in the world of finance. I know we could definitely use a stock picking octopus at my firm.

Shocking Video ! Insane Teacher beats up a kid

Houston’s Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a teacher beating a student at Jamie’s House Charter School — and the proof is in this shocking video.

For almost one full minute, 40-year-old special education teacher Sherri Davis appears to kick, pull and punch a 13-year-old student while classmates cheer and laugh. Captured by a student using a cell phone, here is the ugly, ugly proof of the incident.

Says a Jamie’s House school spokesperson, “Obviously when we saw the video there was no doubt that the teacher would be terminated.”

The teacher was placed on leave after the child’s mother notified school administrators of her son came home with bruises and a black eye, and was officially terminated on Monday.

While Jamie’s House is a charter school for students for disciplinary problems, the spokesperson said that no matter what the boy may have done to provoke the teacher, he didn’t deserve the physical assault from the teacher.

As a parent, what would you do in this situation? Do you think termination from her job is enough punishment for Sherri Davis, or should she be charged with assault, or more? What responsibility does the school’s administration have in all of this?

Student falls asleep during Obama speech

Earlier this week, President Obama gave a speech at Kalamazoo Central high school in Michigan. The school had won a contest brought the president to its town to speak at the graduation ceremony. But while Mr. Obama spoke about the value of hard work and the wonderful education each of the graduating students had earned, a young choir member seated two rows behind the president yawned repeatedly and eventually even nodded off.

The juxtaposition of the president's lofty words mixed with the student's need for sweet, sweet sleep was caught on video. The comedic clip has since made its way around the Web and the exhausted student has garnered quite a fanbase on Facebook. An unofficial group entitled "the guy sleeping behind obama at kalamazoo graduation" has nearly 4,000 members, and blogs across the Web have picked up on the snoozer's sudden fame. Searches on "sleeping student" and "obama sleeping graduation" both soared.

Below, a clip of the sleepy student. Please, try not to wake him.

Lakers vs Celtics Who Will Win?

Who will win this year’s Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy?

NBA Finals 2010 Celtics or Lakers ?

The Finals won’t be that boring after all. On the contrary, this could be the most interesting NBA Finals since the turn of the century as the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers relive their rivalry over the hardcourt.

The first Finals match-up between the two teams started in 1959 when the Boston Celtics swept the then Minneapolis Lakers 4-0. For six more championships the Celtics defeated the Lakers in the 60’s. The era featured greats such as Bill Russell and Bob Cousy for Boston and Elgin Baylor and Jerry West for Los Angeles. In three of those NBA Finals (‘62, ‘66, and ‘69), the series went to seven games, with the Celtics winning each time.

In the 80’s, the rivalry was once renewed with the emergence of two more greats in the person of Larry Bird for the Celtics, and Magic Johnson for the Lakers. During this period, this rivalry took on many dimensions, such as East Coast vs. West Coast, Working class grit vs. Hollywood glitz, old tradition vs. air-conditioned luxury, and some believe white vs. black (the Celtics teams of the 1980s were predominantly composed of Caucasian players, while those of Los Angeles were mostly African American). In that era, the two teams met three times, with Celtics winning one in ‘84 and Lakers two in ‘85 and ‘87.

Fast-forward to the present, the two teams on their way to the Finals defeated last year’s contenders in their respective Conference Finals Titles. In this year’s Playoffs, the Celtics defeated the Pistons and Cavaliers while the Lakers defeated the Jazz and Spurs.

Then, on Thursday June 5, 2008, marks the continuation of the biggest rivalry in the history of the NBA. So far, the Celtics lead 8-2 against the Lakers in these two teams’ epic championship story.

The tandems Bird-McHale-Parish vs. Magic-Jabbar-Worthy are replaced with Pierce-Garnett-Allen vs. Bryant-Odom-Gasol.

The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are back in the NBA Finals 2010. In 2008 the Lakers were defeated in six games that paved the way for the Celtics to be the best team in the NBA because primarily of their three stars namely Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. Meanwhile this is Lakers third NBA appearance in the last three years. Kobe Bryant knows how hard it was to suffer that defeat. Celtics vs Lakers live stream is scheduled on Jun 3, 2010. This is the NBA Finals and we should watch the Celtics vs Lakers live stream.

Pau Gasol two years ago was outplayed by Kevin Garnet but he improved a lot since. On the other hand, Rajon Rondo of the Celtics elevates his game and he is the person to be contained by the Lakers. The Lakers might place Kobe Bryant or Ron Artest on Rondo but who will guard Pierce and Allen? It would be tough for to Lakers to match the Celtics.

Watch The Game On Live Stream

Celtics vs Lakers live stream is on Justin TV, US Stream Tv, and Ilemi , p2p, atdhe, TVU, iraqgoals, Live iphone, espn2, Streaming TV, telkom vision, Internet TV, Online TV, Sopcast, ustream, Yes TV, freedocast. Maybe those sites will show this match online via live streaming.. ABC is the station for the television feed of Celtics vs Lakers. Let us watch Celtics vs Lakers live stream NBA Finals 2010. This will be an exciting game.
